Spanish Boost Student Policies

Welcome to Spanish Boost. To ensure the best learning experience and maintain the quality of our teaching, please review our current policies.

  1. General Payment, Privacy & Logistics
  • Payment Method: All payments are accepted exclusively via bank transfer.
  • Late Payment Fee: If payment is not received by the due date (48 hours before the first lesson of the month/term), a flat £10 late fee will be automatically added to the invoice.
  • Lesson Duration: To allow for transitions between sessions, lessons run 5 minutes less than their nominal time:
    • 1h lessons: 55 minutes of instruction.
    • 1.5h lessons: 1 hour 25 minutes of instruction.
    • 2h lessons: 1 hour 55 minutes of instruction.
  • Punctuality for Face-to-Face Lessons: To respect the privacy and focus of all students, please do not arrive before your scheduled start time, as your teacher may be in the middle of another class. If you arrive late, the lesson must still end at the scheduled time.
  • Online Lesson Privacy: For online lessons, if sessions are recorded (with student/group consent), these videos are for personal and private use only. You are strictly prohibited from sharing, uploading, or distributing these recordings.
  • Cancellations by Spanish Boost: If we must cancel a lesson, we will offer to reschedule. If rescheduling is not possible, the lesson fee will be credited to your next invoice.
  • Price Reviews: Fees are reviewed annually. Any price adjustments will be communicated to students with at least 30 days’ notice.
  1. Private Lessons (1:1, 2:1, and 3:1)

Standard Subscription Model

  • Monthly Fee: The total teaching weeks in the academic year are divided into 11 equal monthly payments (September–July).
  • Initial Payment: Includes the Monthly Tuition + a Security Deposit (equivalent to one month).
  • Notice Period: We require one month’s notice to stop lessons. If notice is given, your deposit covers your final month. Otherwise, it is non-refundable.
  • Cancellations & Rescheduling: If you give more than 48 hours’ notice, you may request to reschedule (subject to availability). If a reschedule isn’t possible, you will receive personalised materials, exercises, or a recorded video lesson in place of the live session.
  1. Group Lessons (4+ Students)

Term-Based Model

  • Payments: Invoiced by Term (Jan-Mar; Apr-July; Sept-Dec). Payment is due in full 48 hours before the first lesson.
  • Attendance: Individual cancellations or rescheduling are not permitted. If a student misses a class, they will receive the lesson recording or materials to catch up.
  1. School-Based Lessons (Primary Education)

In-school sessions during academic hours

  • Monthly Pre-payment: Lessons must be paid in full before the beginning of each month.
  • Holiday Adjustments: In months with school holidays, you will only be invoiced for the specific number of lessons scheduled to take place during that month.
  • Changes in 2:1 Lessons: If one student in a 2:1 pair withdraws, the remaining student will automatically transition to the 1:1 rate for all subsequent lessons.

Spanish Boost follows the UK School Calendar.

  • No lessons are held during:
    • Half-terms (February, May, and October).
